Great question! Making changes once construction has begun will likely cost you time and money, but it is not impossible. If you discover that you would like an exterior or interior change to your home your builder will have to issue a change order. Often there will also be an associated fee per change. Even cosmetic changes like paint, cabinets or trim will delay the build because the new materials will have to be ordered. Also remember that new permits may have to be issued, which can also delay construction depending on the speed of the local government.
In general, it is best to work closely with the builder and design consultants and spend your time carefully making your design choices before the build process begins.
